The ironing is always behind.
I have to iron. I have to see sharp folds and straight flat edges on shirts and linen and skirts and yes, T-shirts. Except of course jeans. No straight folds there. That makes them look nerdy. I learnt that from my daughters.

Like with a desperate diet, I start off every Monday with the determination to iron immediately when something comes off the line. Just to see my diligence fade into submission by Wednesday. The result is a growing mountain of washing and a leaking cup of courage. So I let the mountain run its course… after all, it is already there….and wait for the magical day when my cupeth runneth over again.
I’ll probably always have this habit that needs fixing.

Too funny – I my self HATE ironing and refuse to buy anything that NEEDS ironing – my Husband Loves crisply iron shirts and even jeans (yes nerdy!!) They go to the laundry and come home standing up by themselves.

I hate ironing so my pile is always huge. Lucky for me, my ironing board is always straight, unlike yours 🙂 I think it helps.

Ronell, I say give up the ironing so you will have more time for art. That’s my plan. It must work pretty well, because there is no ironing mountain in my home.
Of course, sometimes the children look a little wrinkly on their way to school, but I figure the wrinkles either fall out while they are there or people assume they got wrinkled during the day. 😀
Hubby pays to have his shirts and pants pressed at the dry cleaner. It was either that or do it himself. Of course I’m not entirely cruel. I did iron his lab coat before he was filmed to be on TV. A wrinkled lab coat — talk about NERDY!
Anway, your art is so great you deserve to skip the iron and go straight to the paint brushes. 🙂

Too funny!! You couldn’t pay me to iron – I detest it so. In fact, the last time I had to iron something my sweetie felt so sorry for me he did it for me! But I do love your sketches – especially that top one, everything flying in different directions, that foot just so… Awesome!
These drawings are great fun, Ronell. MUCH more fun than ironing, for which life is way too short … I iron no more than about two items of clothing a year. When my daughter reaches school age and needs her uniform ironed, I will be happy to work extra hours in order to employ someone to do that ironing instead of me! Not juj though, obviously. 🙂

Such funny drawings full of zest, energy and character – I am lucky to be able to have someone do the ironing once a week, which she seems to love, as she even irons the underpants – even so the mountain builds up, and on long leave, it overwhelms the house. Versigtig daai polvye word nie gebrand nie! (my Afrikaans is ‘n bietjie vrot, maar ek dink ek het dit verstaan..?)

Okay, I confess, I have an ironing fetish too. Even underpants! I bought an amazing combination iron/board (LauraStar) before I left Australia so I could live out my days in ironing heaven. When I packed for Italy, with it’s horrible hard water, I was afraid it would kill my LauraStar. So now she’s waiting in storage in Sydney, in the hope I may one day return and let her get all steamed up again. Of course the super hard water here means nothing irons totally smooth and crisp 😦

LOL, these are great! The first one is ME!!! I have been sewing and ironing for weeks, getting ready for this show. I love it, you should make some cards out of that drawing and let me buy them!!!! Where have been hiding this awesome cartooning/illustrating talent behind all your other talents! So many, which talent will raise its head this week?
