EDM-art 22: Something hanging on the wall.

I have an extreme “coup de fatigue”today and had only enough energy for a few scribbled ink lines and a few squiggles of watercolor pencil, mixed together with random splashes of water.  Kitchen tools hanging from the stone wall in the kitchen corner of our temporary barn. Voilà. That’s it.

EDM-art 2 : Favorite spot to read.

I can read anywhere and I have too many favorite spots to name. It can be outside or on the couch, or in a cafe, in a movie, when people bore me or when I feel boring to others .. But, if you want me in la-la land, give me a book in bed. We don’t have a television in the bedroom. Or a radio, or any other kind of electromagnetic/electronic/ultrasonic/robotic appliance.  And I can’t read in my bed. My bedroom is romantic and beautiful to be in.. My bed is beautiful to sleep in. And a book only makes me a sleeping beauty.

EDM-art 16 & 18: Measuring tools and lipsticks.

We have more measuring tools in our home than we have food.  Fascinating stuff..all these rulers, square edges, the laser beams, the ultrasonic beams, I even have tiny pocket tapes for a handbag. An unending array of measuring tools, never to be found when needed

Lipstick. What does your lipstick, or lip balm say about you. Our good friend, Google, says the following:

  1. sharp angled tip:  opinionated, high spirited, hates schedules, outgoing, selective of friends, likes attention, argumentative…
  2. flat top: high morals, dependable, to the point, quick-minded, loves a challenge, careful about appearances…
  3. sharp angles on both sides:  spiritual, seeks attention, curious, mysterious, loves life, big ego..
  4. flat top, concave : great detective, make friends easily, inquisitive, adventurous…
  5. round, smooth tip: easy going, peacemaker, even-tempered,  steady, likeable, generous..

EDM-art 12 & 13: Something used everyday and something to throw/give away.

I am not person of routine, except for early mornings. Nothing dare interfere with my routine of waking up, walking over to the coffee machine, staring absently at my coffee dripping in my cup, finding my chair and slowly sipping my coffee while my brain and body connects. Once my cup of waking up coffee is empty, my idle mode has shifted into gear and I can take on the day. Don’t mess with my early morning routine.

Mon cheri has the habit of wearing shoes until it isn’t recognizable as shoes any more. Not his fancy pansy shoes, but his working shoes here on the farm. He says they become comfortable and he can wear them all over. I buy him a new pair of working boots, just to see him wearing his old worn ones. So I slip away to his shoes in the night and carry them off to the bin and hide them deep, deep under all the other garbage and I can only sigh my relief once the bin has been emptied. I of course plead innocent when he searches all over for his shoes. But I know that he knows that I know.

EDM-art 11: Hats, caps & other headgear.

Meet Madame de Pompadour. While resorting our house, our temporary “bathroom corner” in the barn is fairly rough. Think old wagon wheel rim, huge old zinc tub, old wooden ladder for towels, old white linen for a curtain, 2 old wooden doors attached to another for a screen and an old mirror. And Madame Pompadour. She adds a bit of fantasy and romance to an otherwise rustic, country corner. She stands elegantly next to an old long mirror. It befits her.

EDM-art 10: Turn it on, turnit off.

I came across this funny gadget in the store the other day. It looked interesting so I bought it. At home I tried it out. I read the instructions. It sounded easy enough and harmless. When I stepped onto it, a few numbers started running in a large display window. When I stepped off, the numbers disappeared. I checked the instructions again. Apparently those numbers tell you your weight. I know I am very light. So I started thinking this thing must be broken, cause those numbers didn’t make sense. I took off my shoes, because shoes are heavy which may have explained those numbers. The numbers didn’t move. I stepped off again and took off all my clothes. I know fabric is quite heavy too. Mince! Those darn numbers! This was starting to get tiring; all the stepping on, stepping off-business and my back started hurting from standing and from holding my breath. So I pulled closer a chair. Placed it behind this thing. Made myself comfortable and put my feet on the gadget a foot on either side of the display window. And there you go, it worked! I knew I was light! This is a great gadget! The instructions just have to be corrected. I’ll write a letter.
