Kniphofia in watercolour.

Also known as torch lily or red poker, I grew up in south Africa knowing them as ‘vuurpyle’. We had them in the garden and every summer they flowered in abundance. I have them in my garden now as well, a little reminder of my South African roots.

Autumn trees.

We are having a lot of rain, which results in the trees losing their leaves fast. The yellows in the trees and carpets on the ground are just too beautiful to pass up and an overcast day is perfect for capturing the contrasts.

Garden apple.

Our apples in the garden are far from perfect n appearance, with spots all over, but they are perfect in taste, sweet and crunchy. I thought it would be a good challenge to paint one in its imperfect, but perfect glow.
