Autumn colour in the garden

The park in our garden is bursting with atumn colour, With a wide variety of oak trees as well as cherry trees, and pine trees, olive trees and others I cant remember the name of. It is quite daunting conveying all the different nuances of ochres. but the process is what is important and the joy that comes from doing it. As always.

Two chairs and table in WC

I am always tempted to paint a coffee corner with tables and chairs. At the moment there isn’t much colour around, but very soon all the roses and flowers will be in bloom and everything will be green. And people will start gathering around a table.

Daffodils in watercolour

The bulbs are pushing up everywhere and now is the perfect time to do do some flower sketching. I enjoyed doing this sketch and getting on with flowers again. Afterwards I decided to add pen. (second image)

So, pen or pencil?

Yellow rose

I don’t know the name of this rose, but it is a lovely soft yellow climbing rose and overflowing with blooms in June. I love yellows and oranges in summer with a lot of white and accents of blue. Isn’t nature perfect in its inspration?

Watercolour for Sunflowers.

Some subject are painted again and again and they never look the same, like sunflowers. I have done sunflowers in 2007, then in 2010, 2011, 2014 and now again. they are just wondeful to paint/sketch…the colour alone gives me huge kick when slapping it onto the paper. Sometimes my painting/sketching didn’t work, but I enjoyed painting sunflowers every time. So, before the season runs out, I need to get some sunflowers done in oil…looking forward to that.
