Autumn trees.

We are having a lot of rain, which results in the trees losing their leaves fast. The yellows in the trees and carpets on the ground are just too beautiful to pass up and an overcast day is perfect for capturing the contrasts.

Bowl with grapes still life.

It is time for the grapes of autumn, my favorite being Muscat. the problem with grapes is that you don’t keep track of how much you eat and before you know it you have devoured bunch after bunch of sugar! That is exactly what happened to me when painting this still life. This little painting is 15×20 cm and is available on my website, Ronell van Wyk

Sketching around home.

I still feel unsafe and weird to venture off in public, so most of my sketching is done at home. These two sketches are of our house and the old bread oven which is now being used as a garden shed.

I am happy to be able to say that I m still going strong with inktober even though some prompts are getting really challenging.

Inktober 10 Snow. My daughters are enthusiastic snowboarders so I didn’t have a shortage on action shots to choose from. I quite like this one for its typical snowboard posture. Ink wash and prera fountain pen in Stillman and birn sketchbook.
