Daffodils in watercolour

The bulbs are pushing up everywhere and now is the perfect time to do do some flower sketching. I enjoyed doing this sketch and getting on with flowers again. Afterwards I decided to add pen. (second image)

So, pen or pencil?

Vineyard and mountains

The vineyards are starting to turn into yellows, reds and browns. Harvest time is mostly over, although here and there you can still see some late harvesting going on.

My artwork is available on Ronells art.

Coffee corner among the plants in oil.

Apart from loving to paint landscapes and especially the olive trees of Provence, I also enjoy painting coffee corners. A little table and chairs in a cozy Provencal corner. It isn’t always that easy, but therein lies the challenge I suppose. It might come out a little wonky sometimes, but to me, that is OK as long as it conveys an ambiance.

Canal paintings in oil

I enjoy painting water, it is so satisfying trying to catch the movement of the water, the light, the stillness, the depth, the values… These paintings are from the canals in Isle sur la sorgue in Provence.

Olive grove at St Saturnin les Apt in oil

This olive grove is a stone throw away from my home and I keep on coming back to it to paint. It is full of olives at the moment and harvesting time is not far off. Our skies are a bit softer at the moment which makes for more gentle and less bright colours on the palette.

My artwork is for sale on my site at Ronells art
